Get Support

We’re here for you every step of the way.

The Blue Bench is with you from the earliest moments after sexual assault, through medical and legal logistics, to the support needed for long-term healing. We serve survivors of sexual assault 13 years of age and older of all gender identities, ethnic/racial identities, sexual identities, and religious backgrounds who live in our 9-county service area.

No matter where you are on your journey or how long ago the assault occurred, The Blue Bench will hear you, support you, and believe you.

To inquire about therapy (group or individual), case management services, or if you just want to discuss your options, call our resource line at 303-329-9922 (para Español, 303-329-9922) or email resourceline@thebluebench.org.

Reporting (Or Not)

Deciding whether to report sexual assault is a deeply personal choice. Survivors in Colorado have multiple options.

This can often be one of the most stressful decisions following a sexual assault. There may be people in your life who attempt to persuade you to report or not to report, but know that the choice is yours.

Survivors in Colorado can choose to file a formal report, pursue anonymous reporting, or simply gather information without deciding right away. Learn more about different reporting options.

Whatever your choice is, The Blue Bench can help you navigate the process.

Seeking Medical Care

Your health and safety matter, especially after you experience sexual assault.

The most common reason to seek medical care after an assault is for a “rape kit,” also known as a SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) exam. A rape kit can be completed even if you’re unsure about reporting, allowing you to decide later. If you decide not to report, you may still get the exam to address other health concerns or injuries you have following your assault.

If you need help navigating the SANE and hospital process, The Blue Bench can provide a Hospital Advocate to accompany you to the hospital. A Hospital Advocate can also help you understand your options and available resources.

Our Hospital Advocates can be contacted through our 24/7 Sexual Assault Hotline at 303-322-7273.

Individual Therapy

You don’t have to navigate sexual assault alone. Our therapists provide time-limited, trauma-specific, individual and group therapy in English and Spanish. We do not bill insurance. Time limit is usually six months.

To learn more about receiving therapy services, call our resource line at 303-329-9922 or email resourceline@thebluebench.org.

We know that loved ones of survivors benefit from learning more about the impacts of sexual assault, talking with others about how to effectively support their loved ones, and getting support themselves. Explore our groups & workshops for family, friends, and partners of sexual assault survivors.

Groups & Workshops
