Prevention & Education

Prevention & education for every age

How we talk about consent, safety, and respect today shapes how our whole community responds to sexual violence tomorrow.

Prevention & education stops sexual violence before it starts by addressing risk factors at every level: individual, relational, community, and societal. Our Community Education programs equip people of all ages to recognize harmful behavior, intervene safely, support survivors, and challenge the norms that let violence go unchallenged.

What is prevention & education?

Community prevention education focuses on:

  • Acknowledging that we all have a role in preventing sexual violence

  • Recognizing inappropriate behavior and risky situations

  • Knowing how—and when—to safely step in

  • Teaching consent and healthy relationships at every age

  • Challenging victim-blaming and rape culture

  • Responding to survivors with empathy and belief

  • Building the confidence to speak up against sexual violence

  • Providing the knowledge and skills to prevent and resist sexual assault

Our programs are research-based, multi-session, and culturally responsive—tailored to the community we're serving. We partner with schools, businesses, parent groups, youth educators, service providers, and alcohol-serving establishments to create lasting, community-wide change.

Our Approach & Curricula

“Sexual violence can be prevented with data-driven, collaborative action." — National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey

Prevention works best community-wide—schools, families, organizations, and institutions acting together to prevent violence, support survivors, and build a culture of accountability.

Our programs span the full lifespan, from early childhood through older adulthood. It's never too early or too late to start: early conversations about body safety and consent build lifelong awareness, and every age group benefits from a community that prevents harm and responds to survivors well.
